Batman Series (1989-1997) LD PCM to UHD

I've been away for a while with personal stuff. Updated my original post to add the JP LD of Batman Returns and both the US/JP LDs for Batman & Robin. Thanks to BDgeek for the raws!

Rumour has it that the original DVD release of Returns contained the theatrical 5.1 mix.

The original 1997-98 DVD releases of Returns, Forever, and Batman & Robin all have the Dolby Digital theatrical mixes, while the initial DVD of Batman '89 has the six-track mag mix. The 2005 SE DVD's of Forever and Batman & Robin are rumored to have the alternate DTS theatrical 5.1 mixes in addition to the DD 5.1.

Hold on! The original DVD of Tim Burton's "Batman" has the 6-track magnetic track and none of our audio guys has resynced it to the Blu-rays and UHD yet? That's odd.

Someone on OT long ago did a project which synced that track to the old BD, but strangely shelved it when the 4k was on the horizon (little did they know that release would have a completely and radically altered Atmos soundmix).

Some of the 4k streams like iTunes and PV play the 5.1 six-track with a non-atmos capable setup, while most PCs set to 2.0 output play the Dolby Stereo mix.

I've been wondering this, too. Only movie out of the 1989-1997 BATMAN series I don't currently own is BATMAN & ROBIN.

AFAIK they're based on the SE DVD mixes.

I did! It's a while back but, looking in my project library, I have BD syncs for the '97 5.1 of both Batman 89 and Batman Returns, plus a UHD sync of Batman Returns.

Can't remember if/why I didn't resync Batman 89 for UHD - were there definitely differences in the master?
