[Proposal] Dune (1984) - "Fixed" Extended Cut

I am personally a massive fan of David Lynch's Dune and I have just seen the infamous Extended TV Cut (aka the "Alan Smithee" Cut), and personally in spite of it's extremely obvious faults I still greatly enjoyed my time with it. I am aware of fan edits that seek to "improve" the film and it's such as the famous Alternative Edition by SpiceDiver and Dune Deluxe Edition by 15MaF but I feel their scopes are too far grand and seek an audience that otherwise hates the film as is. With this proposal I wish to create a version of the official extended cut of the film that only changes and fixes the biggest issues with it (faked scenes, missing blue eyes, repeated scenes) while keeping the charm and quirks of the original Theatrical Cut.
I would start working on this immediately but I am currently backlogged with other projects at the moment, I am posting this here as a Proposal for the time being

Planned Video Sources:
ViaVision Extended Cut Blu-Ray (main video source)
Koch Media Theatrical Blu-Ray (source for missing Theatrical scenes in the extended cut)
SpiceDiver Alternative Edition Redux 1080p Rebuild (source for Freman blue eye fix)

Planned Audio:
2.0 Stereo
Surround Upmix (maybe 7.1?)

Planned Changes
- Restore the missing theatrical scenes (example: the Duke's heart plug murder scene)
- Remove obvious looped, fake, or duped scenes
- Restore Princess Irulan's narration (possibly the introduction as well but I quite like some of the added info in the TV prologue)
- Fix the Theatrical segments audio with the 70mm mix (for some reason the Extended 5.1 mix has them in lower quality)

Might be worth seeking out the aDigtialMan's Dune Redux - alternative workprint edition.

It was done when the extended DVD was released in the USA but it may help you with putting this together!

Update: I have began very rudimentary editing for this project today, mostly just inserting the Theatrical mix into the Extended mix with some of the Spicediver cut here and there. I also don't believe that a true 5.1 mix is going to be possible with the current materials but I might be able to do an upmix of the stereo master when I finish the main edit. I've also workshopped some possible names for this edit, the current project name is "Dune - The Final Cut" as a homage to Blade Runner but I think the name might be a little in poor taste. Let me know what you guys think

Final Cut seems like an appropriate name.
