That was fantastic. Strangely, track 1 default to Stereo and doesn't sound one bit like track 2.

Are those companies using the same source?

Yeah I discussed that back in post 8 I think.

The first track is a stereo/Dolby surround track encoded in DTS MA form. It comes from the Italian disc and sounds better then the Arrow PCM 2.0 so I made it number one. Normally I would think it was a mix down or some such but comparing it to the 5.1 it’s still much better. In fact the arrow track is also better then the 5.1 although at this point that shouldn’t surprise.

I was kind of expecting a UHD version of this BD by now. Seeing as that hasn't happened and since I've been doing a bunch of upscales, I'd figure I would return to this project with some improvements.

First, I fixed the odd aspect ratio of the Koch ITA BD by adjusting it to be closer to the geometry of the old Fox/Arrow/Shout transfer. Rather then crop the sides to get the video back to 2.35/9, I kept it as is which makes the aspect ratio slightly thinner.

Second, I ran a LUT I created a while back to convert the green look to a more blue look. Hopefully making it a little more theatrically accurate. I also upped the contrast a little to get rid of the slightly fuzzy look of the original BD

Finally, I upscaled it to 2160p resolution and transferred into 2020 colorspace using a P3 monitor and HDR10 graded. The 2020/HDR10 grading is using a new technique I've been trying with my David Fincher projects opposed to the old way I had used before.

Looks so much better without all the teal. Always preferred this master compared to old Fox one, can’t wait to see the results PDB.
