#1
StudioCanal has announced that T2 will be returning to theaters for it's 35th anniversary today at CinemaCon.

"Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Restoration): James Cameron’s defining 1991 sci-fi action landmark returns in a meticulously restored presentation."

There's already a few screenings set for May at high profile venues.

Of course the big talk of this forum will be whether or not this will be a "new" 4K master or just the old one showing yet again. Personally I think it's just going to be the old master but either way I'm excited to see it if it comes near me. Thoughts from yall?

No, the now senile and digitally impaired Canadian ex-filmmaker only deals with variable HFR so that you can never get used to it and be annoyed the whole run time.

don't get excited. It will be the same 4K transfer minted from the 3D restoration. My local cinema screened it last year

Would love to see the 3D version on the big screen though. Maybe a 4DX screening of it

Beber have you seen Titanic 3D with the HFR added? That was... weird!

No, only the regular 3D and the open matte 3D Blu-ray. But I did see "Avatar 2" in native variable HFR. Never again! At least, even though it still sucks, the constant native HFR of "The Hobbit" was a pain in the ass for 15 minutes and then you got used to it, once you're immersed into the story. But when it’s variable, you're regularly recalled that something is very wrong.

I don't for a second believe it's a new scan, or would be good at all

My guess is we're stuck with those UHD scans forever. They will just tweak them with additional HFR or other stuff. That's it.
